I’m still getting tons of traffic here at Life In the Internet looking for information on LOST though and I just wanted to remind everyone, or let you know for new guests, that all my LOST updates and recaps are now over at the new site What Happened On LOST.

First things first…the next new episode of LOST on ABC airs tonight at at 10pm eastern / 9pm central. DON’T MISS IT!

Now, on to the reason for this post! Since I started writing about LOST this season, I’ve gotten a HUGE response from people reading and checking up on what happened on the show. So huge in fact that I’ve decided to spin-off a new site just for this purpose. I got really creative with the name too… it’s called What Happened On Lost. Shocking right?

I’ll put a link over in the right sidebar to make it easier to find and you can always bookmark What Happened on LOST after you get over there. The new URL is even easy, it’s: http://www.WhatHappenedOnLost.info! (Notice the .info and not .com)

Ok, so no update here tonight, you’ll have to read all about it over on What Happened On Lost! Thanks for visiting and subscribing, hope to keep you as a reader! BTW, if you go over there to check it out, be sure to leave a comment and let me know you stopped by!

Thanks again,

Thom

AS the ep opens, we get a review of who Michael is, what he did and how he got off the island…reminding us of all the reasons those left on the island have to dislike him. And if there were any question about whether they like him or not, we’re reminded by Sawyer (Josh Holloway) during a lostie meeting held in one of the barrack houses. During the meeting Ben reveals Michael is “his man” on the freighter and Locke tells the group they now have to protect Ben because the freighters will kill our losties after they retrieve Ben.

Back on the freighter Sayid (Naveen Andrews) and Desmond witness the Captain of the freighter beating the snot out of some guy on the deck. He claims he’s doing so to remind everyone what happened the last time someone tried to leave without his permission (uh, hello… bring us up to speed will ya!)

Sayid then finds a quick and quiet moment to question Michael about how he came to be on the island…again, and prompting our first flash of the evening. During the flash Michael appears to be driving around New York in a crappy green car in an attempt to kill himself? He only managed to land in the hospital. Then we see him trying to get past his mom to see Walt, clearly after the plane crash based on the dialog. They made it back but can’t tell anyone…hhhmmm.

Things don’t seem to be all that great with Michaeld and Walt as him mom wouldn’t let him pass. Michael catches a glimpse of Walt in the window and Walt hides. Next he goes to a pawn shop, gets a gun, and goes to an alley to kill himself…only to be interrupted by Tom (or Mr. Friendly, which ever you prefer). So it looks like this is between Michael and Walt leaving the island and before Tom gets killed on the beach. It also means Tom could come and go from the island as well. Was he keeping an eye on Michael?

In a strange conversation between Michael and Tom, Tom tells him that that the Island won’t let him kill himself. Michael goes to Tom’s hotel suite (where we find our that Tom is GAY (remember he said Kate wasn’t his type!)) where Tom reveals to him Widmore did in fact stage the wreckage of Flight 815. Widmore did so to keep the island to himself! Because the “Others” don’t want that, Tom was sent to push Michael into an undercover job on the freighter with the ultimate objective of killing everyone on the freighter!

(BTW, we’ve just been through what I think is the longest flash of the series)

When Michael arrives at the freighter in Fiji he finds a care package from Tom, presumably with guns to kill the crew…but he won’t open it now that he’s met some of them. When he finally does open it, inside is a black case that he opens to find a big ole booming bomb! Just as he’s about to start the detonation sequence we get a creepy visit from Libby warning him off…but he does it anyway and after the countdown… a note saying “NOT YET”… what the crap?

Still in the flash, Michael get a “phone call” via the radio room from Ben where Ben tells Michael he is to compile a list of people on the freighter, then disable the radio room, then the engines.

Michael agrees and we’re suddenly beck to present on the freighter and Sayid promptly snatches Michael up and rats him out to the ship’s captain.

Back on the island, Karl, Alex and Russo have been slipped secret directions to the Temple by Ben where he believes they will be safe. On the way, Karl and Russo are shot dead…so much for being safe, huh! To this Alex jumps up, throws up her hands and proclaims she is Ben’s daughter…and the episode ends there!

We get a little bit of a mid-season break here. The next new episode won’t be on till April 24th at a new time 10e/9c. Hope I can wait that long…

At the risk of turning this into a TV show blog, I just HAVE to make a few comments on last night’s episode of Dancing With the Stars on ABC.

If you know me at all you know I don’t watch much TV so to be writing about two shows is a pretty big deal. I was flippin through the channels last night looking for WebMoney ideas and came across Dancing With the Stars season six. Now I didn’t see Monday night’s show where the men danced but last night it was just the Women of Dancing With the Stars…and they were pretty good.

First up was Shannon Elizabeth on Dancing With the Stars. She actually did a pretty good job and the crowd sure seemed to like her.

Next was Monica Seles on Dancing With the Stars. The former tennis player didn’t do quite as well on the dance floor as she did on the tennis courts. She was stiff and obviously nervous. I’d look for her to be the first woman eleminated from Dancing With the Stars Season 6.

We also say Kristi Yamaguchi on Dancing With the Stars. The world champion and olympic gold medalist skater performed up to her expectations…very well. An early favorite because of her skating background Kristi Yamaguchi proved she would glide around the dance floor just as well as the ice. (Please…pardon the puns…i’m on a roll today!)

The last dancer of the evening was Marlee Matlin on Dancing With the Stars. The award winning actress is totally deaf and Marlee and her partner put on a stellar performance! She could go a long way on Dancing With the Stars season 6.

Far and away however was the performance of Priscilla Presely on Dancing With the Stars. I was shocked. Despite Priscilla Presley age and being the poster child for how to NOT have plastic surgery done, her performance was awesome! New leader in the race to win Dancing With the Stars for sure!

We open this episode by rejoining our losties on the freighter. Desmond awakes locked in the sickbay of the Kahana with Sayid (Naveen Andrews). Sayid is already working on his breakfast from a can as they see a note being tossed into the room (Ben’s man on the boat?). The note reads, “Don’t trust the Captain”.

When Desmond and Sayid (Naveen Andrews) do meet Captain Gault, they start to get a pretty good idea of the freighter’s mission. The Captain shows them the flight data recorder (the black box) from flight 815 (obviously fake because the real one is on the island with the actual wreckage) and tells them it was “obtained” by charles Widmore (Penny’s dad). He goes on to repeat the story told to the rest of the world about the wreckage being found in the Sunda Trench with 324 dead bodies aboard. Even the captain seems a bit awestruck by someone who would have the power to fake such a thing.

Remember, we learned last week in The Other Woman that the freighter controlled by Mr. Widmore who also bought the First Mate’s diary from the Black Rock and who, according to Ben, has been looking for the island for years. Apparently he knows a lot more about this island that we think. He also sponsored the boat race that got Desmond lost…was he doing so hoping one of the entries would find the island?

We see Sun and Jin sitting by the fire where Jin wants to talk about names for the baby. If it’s a girl he wants to name her “Ji Yeon”. Sun doesn’t want to think about (perhaps because she has been told by Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) that she will not carry the baby to term and will die). Sun says it’s a beautiful name and doesn’t want to jinx the baby. They make a deal to get of the Island first, before discussing it further.

Kate (Evangeline Lilly) tells Sun and Jin about Charlotte hitting her on the head. She explains that Charlotte and Daniel have turned of the poison gas factory and deactivated the gas, gaining some brownie points. She also says that Juliet lied about the Tempest being a power station, “probably out of habit”. Finally she reveals that the freighter-people have talked about a lot of things, but that none involved rescuing them.

We find Jin making breakfast and Jack (Matthew Fox)compliments him on how his English has improved. Jin tells Jack that Sun and Sawyer (Josh Holloway) have been teaching him…but Sun is the better teacher. Sun comes running up and pauses at the sight of Jack. Jack asks her about how she is doing and Sun says that the morning sickness has stopped. When Jack leaves them, Sun tells Jin to pack food for two days…they are moving to Locke’s group.

<div style="float: right;" 3="">

Kate (Evangeline Lilly) draws a map for Jin and Sun to Locke’s barracks and tells them that after giving them a good head start, she will have to tell Jack (Matthew Fox) that they have left. Sun and Kate agree that Jack wouldn’t understand why they are leaving. As they are saying goodbye, they are interrupted by Juliet who tries to stop Sun from leaving. She tells Jin that Sun is very sick and will die within three weeks if she doesn’t leave the island. Sun has made up her mind though and Jin says: “Where Sun go, I go”. In a last ditch effort to stop her, Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) tells Jin that Sun had an affair…well, that tactic worked, but Sun did get a good slap in on Juliet.

After a little calming time Jin comes back around settles down…and makes dinner for Sun. He forgives her and they make up. During Jin’s absence Juliet successfully convinces Sun to stay and protect the baby.

We also see a new “flash” device this week…not flash backs…not flash forward…but BOTH! Ultimately we find out that Sun is flashing forward and Jin is flashing back. In one of Sun’s flashes forward we find out that she is one of the Oceanic 6 (joining Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sayid). We also see in one of her flashes that she has a little girl.

Back on the freighter after Sayid and Desmond talk with the Captain, they are taken to new digs…digs that are still soiled by the apparent suicide shot to the head of its previous occupant. The doc who showed them the way calls over Kevin Johnson to clean it up and as he emerges out of the shadows we see that Kevin Johnson is none other than Michael!

And the at the very end Another Shoe Drops! Hurley visits Sun after the baby is born in Korea and they go to visit Jin…in the cemetery! JIN IS DEAD! It seems Jin’s flashbacks predate their flight on Oceanic 815. What we don’t know is how or when he died! CRAP!

And according to the trailer for next week…someone else is going to die!

We’ve come to have an uneasy trust of Dr. Burke in the recent past even coming up to speed a little on how she came to be on the island, her distrust & dislike for Ben, and how badly she wants off the island. In this weeks installment of the hit ABC series LOST, we find out even more about Juliet Burke (Elizabeth Mitchell), especially some of the more romantic details of her stay on the island.

We know from previous back story that Juliet was recruited to come to the island to study the difficulty women were having giving birth. Juliet was initially promised that she could “try out” her engagement on the island for only 6 months, making it possible for her to be back for the birth of her sister’s child. Well, that 6 month trial period passed the three year mark on the day of the crash, and not because she didn’t want to leave! We also found out last season that Juliet and Godwin were lovers. Well…

As the episode opens Juliet is meeting with Harper, the “Others” therapist. She’s been on the island for about a week and is having a bit of trouble adjusting. Their session is interrupted so that Ben can present Juliet with her new home, a 2 bedroom / 2 bath cottage with washer and dryer.

We cut to the beach where Juliet is putting together her shelter for the evening when Jack realizes that Daniel and Charlotte are missing. As Jack, Juliet and the other losties head off into the jungle to find them Juliet in confronted by Harper who tells her that Ben wants her to go to the Tempest station, find them, and kill them… then… Harper disappears.

We cut to Juliet meeting Goodwin in some sort of clinic where he’s seeking first aid for some sort of chemical burn on his arm. It’s there that we find out that Goodwin and Harper are actually married!

Flash back to the jungle and Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Jack (Matthew Fox) are marching on a mission toward the Tempest to intercept Daniel and Charlotte. Flash to Daniel and Charlotte as they are discovered by Kate (Evangeline Lilly). Charlotte draws down on Kate but Daniel vouches for her. They chat for a bit and as Kate starts to put two and two together, Charlotte whacks Kate on the head to unconsciousness.

We’re back to Harper and Juliet talking and Harper asks Juliet how long she’s been sleeping with her husband, Goodwin. Juliet apologizes and Harper tells Juliet that if she continues her relationship with Goodwin that Ben will get hurt!?! (Maybe Juliet was brought to the island for Ben?)

Cut to Locke and Claire discussing the best way to get info from Miles. She’s frustrated and Locke continues to resist… then he goes to see Ben. And of course Ben starts in with the mental assault against Locke, suggesting that the people will be angry when they figure our John doesn’t have a plan. John blows him off and hits the road just as Ben dangles tidbits about their common enemy in front of Locke’s nose.

Flash to a beach scene with Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Goodwin sharing a picnic and a bottle of wine. They are obviously intimate in the way they talk and touch. They acknowledge that Ben has a crush on her and agree to keep their relationship a secret.

We see flight 815 falling and Ben’s instructions to Ethan and Goodwin…and his nod to Juliet as he runs off to join the tailies.

Jack and Juliet find Kate tossed in the high grass in the jungle where she tells them what happened. Under the pretense of getting water for Kate, Juliet leaves Kate and Jack to head toward the Tempest station.

Back at the barracks, Ben is working a deal with Locke to affect his release. Ben leads Locke to a hidden safe in the house that contains a video tape. As they watch the tape we see Charles Widmore (Penny’s dad) on some surveillance tape. Ben tells Locke that Widmore has been looking for the island for years and that he is the power behind the freighter. He states further that he believes Widmore wants to exploit the island, obviously playing to John’s desire to protect the island. When Locke demands to know who Ben’s man on the boat is…we go to commercial.

Returning to Kate and Jack hot on Juliet’s trail. As Juliet arrives at the Tempest station we cut back to Ben’s house as Juliet is arriving for dinner. As they eat Ben is frustrated by Juliet’s mention of Goodwin’s return from the tailies. Back at the Tempest Juliet comes upon Daniel and Charlotte, dressed in protective gear, working on a computer. She draws down on Daniel and he pauses (duh…).

As Daniel assures Juliet that he’s trying to make the poison gas inert and safe, Charlotte attacks her and they struggle. The alarm system shuts down and all seems safe with just 2 seconds left…talk about drama!

In a flashback Ben comes to see Juliet and they discuss having Jack operate on Ben’s spinal tumor. Ben seems down and as it turns out its because…Goodwin is dead. He takes Juliet to see Goodwin’s body and tells her part of the story. Ben sees her distress and appears to be resolved now that Juliet will not be his. She becomes angry with Ben for leaving Goodwin with the tailies so he could die and she ask him why. That’s when he tells her that she is his then he leaves her there in the jungle with Goodwin’s impaled body.

<div style="float: right;" 3px="">

Back at the Tempest Kate and Jack catch up with Juliet, Charlotte, and Daniel. Jack and Juliet are left alone outside as the others go inside for a few minutes. She tells him she has feelings for Jack and Jack plants one on her…a good one!

At the barracks Hugo and Sawyer are playing horse shoes when they see Ben strolling through the compound and into a house.

And that’s it for this week.

This week we rejoin Sayid (Naveen Andrews) and Desmond (Henry Ian Cusick) that made it off the island in the helicopter with Frank and Naomi’s body. As they are flying to the freighter Sayid (Naveen Andrews) becomes worried as they appear to be heading into a thunderstorm but Frank reassures Sayid that everything will be ok.

Back on the beach, Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Jack (Matthew Fox) confront Charlotte and Faraday about why they aren’t worrying about how long its taking the helo to get to the freighter. Daniel tells Jack and Juliet that time doesn’t exactly work the same way on the island as it does in the rest of the world…so they shouldn’t worry. What the crap!?! All Frank has to do is keep the course Daniel gave him and all will be fine, otherwise…there may be side-effects.

Back on the helo it appears Desmond is experiencing some of those side effects. As they land on the freighter he says he know none of them and that he’s not supposed to be there. A couple of the freighters take him to the sick bay to see the doctor.

As his condition worsens we find out that he’s not having flashbacks as much as he is traveling in time between his military time in 1996 and the present. Des talks to Daniel back on the beach and Daniel figures out what going on so he tells Desmond to head for the train station and go to Oxford to find the 1996 Daniel.

Back on the ship, Desmond meets George Minkowski, the communications officer from the ship. (What was the name of the guy Hugo went to see in Australia?) Anyway, Minkowski is tied up and being sedated because he appears to be having the same time flashes as Desmond.

1996 Daniel tells Desmond he needs to find a constant, something or someone what is in both time periods that will ground him…give him an anchor. Of course, he chooses Penny.

Minkowski tells Sayid and Desmond that the others on the freighter have destroyed the radio equipment on the ship so they head to the radio room to fix it. While there Minkowski has an aneurysm…and dies. Just as Desmond’s nose begins to bleed.

So as Desmond is time jumping back and forth he’s meeting with Penny’s dad and ultimately Penny herself. He begs her for a phone number he can use to call her eight years later on December 24th, 2004. Sayid gets the phone working and hands the phone off to Desmond…SHE ANSWERS!!! (Yeah, we like her!) She still loves him and has been looking for him for the last three years. She knows about the island but static cuts them off as they both promise each other to never stop looking for each other. This appears to have quelled Desmond’s time jumps.

Back on the beach Daniel is looking through his journal and finds a note he wrote to himself…that Desmond Hume would be his constant if anything ever went wrong.

Next week, The Other Woman, a Juliet centric episode!

Just like last week, I took another break from the InterWorld last night to watch LOST…Wow! Just like last week’s post What Happened On Lost: The Beginning of the End, I’m gonna try to give you an update about season 4 Week 2′s installment entitled Confirmed Dead. My daughter was all pumped when she saw the title because she though we’d finally find out who was in the coffin from last seasons Through the Looking Glass episode. But alas, we did not.

Instead we found out that those Confirmed Dead where in fact the passengers and crew from Flight 815. We even saw pretty dramatic video as Remote Operated Vehicles or ROVs combed through the wreckage. Good enough in fact for “officials” to be able to identify the bodies of at least the pilot (although thats in question, more later). Now is it just me or…If the wreckage is so deep that it can’t be recovered (as they said) shouldn’t the bodies be crushed by the weight of the water?

We also met the four members of the “rescue” team from the freighter. First is Daniel Faraday, played by Jeremy Davies, he’s the one we’ve seen over the past couple of weeks saying, “I can’t really say rescuing your people is our first priority…” Daniel is some kind of physicist (so he says). Also of note, he’s been added to the regular list of actors in the credits. I presume that means we’ll see a lot more of him.

Next we meet Miles Straume, played by Ken Leung, some kind of ghost whisperer and definitely trigger happy wanna be mercenary. You might remember him from the first Rush Hour movies as the freaky blond haired henchman. Anyway, both of these guys were found by Jack (Matthew Fox) and Kate (Evangeline Lilly).

Next we meet Charlotte played by Rebecca Mader. (I knew I recognized here from somewhere, she was on another show I liked called Justice!) Anyway, she’s a pretty head-strong anthropologist with some kind of knowledge or connection with Dharma. We know that because she shows up on an archeology dig in Tunisia and finds the skeleton of a polar bear with a Dharma collar and seems to recognize it. She runs into Locke and company (including Ben) and hangs with them at least through this episode.

Finally, we meet Frank Lapidus played by Jeff Fahey. Simply, Frank is a drunk (albeit pretty good) pilot who was supposed to be the pilot on flight 815. We know that because he said so in his flashback where he questioned the identification of the actual pilot from Flight 815.

Now for the big news. No, we don’t find out any other members of the Oceanic 6 but we do find out what the “rescue” team’s primary objective is. They are on the island to get Ben! We also find out that Ben knew they were coming because (he says) he has a man on their ship! What the crap?!?

We also find out that the creepy black dude, (told Hurley his name is Matthew Abaddon) that visited Hurley in the Santa Rosa Mental Hospital is behind the “rescue.” Naomi is shown talking with him where he insists that there are no survivors from flight 815. Does he say this with such authority because he arranged for the fake ship to be at the bottom of the ocean? Hhmmm…

Finally, we also know from creepy black dude’s conversation with Naomi that the four members of the “rescue” party were specifically chosen for a purpose, and that they are to go to the island and return, all of them, safe and sound. Her job was to protect them…guess she should have thought about protecting herself!

All in all a pretty good episode. Certainly laid the groundwork for future episodes. I’d recommend a watch! Stay tuned to jtrigsby.com for more updates…only eleven more episodes this season!

Since I spilled my big secret yesterday (see Tonight’s the Night!) about my love for LOST on ABC, I thought I’d go ahead and bite the bullet and start a weekly series to help everybody stay up to date on what happened on LOST.

Thursday night was the big premiere we’ve been waiting eight months for…a 2 hour LOST event no less…and it was great! After an hour long recap (a necessary staple of the series) we finally go into some new meat.

As we rejoin our castaways, Jack (Matthew Fox) has just phoned home, uh, the ship and they’re on the way. Locke (Terry O’Quinn) has just killed the parachute girl, and Ben, still bleeding from Jack’s beating, is tied to a big tree. As the losties at the radio tower celebrate, sadness sets in on the beach as everyone there learns Charlie died down below.

We also get re-introduced (quite heavily I’m afraid), a device first employed in the last season finale. This is a Hugo / Hurley centric episode where we see how life off the island has effected him, and lets just say he is much worse for the wear. As he’s being arrested from running from the cops, he says he one of the Oceanic 6 (six, I thought there were more than that on the island). So if there are only six that get off, we know three: Jack, Kate, and Hurley. But who are the rest and why didn’t the rest make it off the island?

Hurley is committed and while in the hospital, a strange man comes to visit him, the man asks Hurley if “they” are still alive? Who is they?

Jack comes to visit Hugo in the hospital…to see if he’s going to “tell.” Tell what? And if you remember the cliffhanger last year, Jack says he’s tired of lying. Lying to who about what?

And then there’s the fact that Hurley say Jacob’s cabin…and presumably Jacob. Does that make Hurley “special” too?

As usual this weeks installment has left us with more questions than answers. MAN, I love this show!

Although it’s probably stretching the “connected” theme just a bit, tonight is the night many TV fans have been waiting eight months for…

…a 2 hour Lost event tonight on ABC starting at 7:00 pm central! Yeah! But alas, there is a problem…

First you win…

I’ve watched Lost from the very first episode (by accident but hey). Maybe its just that I’m tired of all the “reality” junk on these days, maybe its because it reminds me of Lost In Space (the series with June Lockhart and Bill Mumy, not the movie with Mimi Rogers and William Hurt). Or maybe its just I like the multi-threaded mystery drama action stuff. Either way, its back! And now for the problem.

…then you lose!
My favorite distraction away from the InterWorld is ham radio. In fact, I’ve got a blog about it called Adventures in Amateur Radio. Anyway, in my local area here we have a meeting on the air ( a “net” ) every Thursday night at 7:30 and because of tonight’s 2 hour Lost event, it’s going to be a conflict. Wait, I can hear you now saying, “No problem, skip the net and watch the show!” Well, normally I would, but last week I volunteered to be in charge of the net this week! What’s a guy to do? I mean, I simply don’t watch much TV so I hardly ever run into this kind of situation so now what?

Then you win again!
Tivo to the rescue! That’s right, Tivo! It has become my lifesaver in situations like this one. This will kinda work out better anyway. I’ll finish my net around 8:00, that will give us about an hour of Lost already recorded. That way, when we start watching it, we can fast forward through the commercials and still not “catch up” with live TV. It’ll be GREAT! If you don’t already have Tivo, I strongly recommend it, I bet it will change your life the way it has changed mine!

PS – If you live anywhere close to Huntsville, Alabama and have a scanner, tune it to 146.94 around 7:30 and listen to our net! It’s sponsored by Huntsville/Madison County ARES and the repeater is courtesy of the North Alabama Repeater Association.
