I don't check local news every day. Well, I scan it, usually (since it's already listed on my customized Google News page). I'll visit al.com or some other local news website maybe once every few days, more or less. I'm not consistent about it (though a few months ago I was reading local news, in one form or another, every day). This morning I nearly picked up a copy of the Huntsville Times but decided to come home, make coffee and maybe visit the paper's website instead (though I haven't actually visited the site yet, and may not at all today).

So, since you depend on local news sources for your updates, here's a follow up question. How often do you get your updates? Every day, every couple of days, a couple of times a day??

Also, of course, Google: news.google.com in particular (which I have configured to serve me up local news).

To answer your question of the week: I tend to use al.com (and it's mothership, the Huntsville Times) to much of my local info. -- and yes, the local news television stations -- to keep up with what's happening locally. I also hear about things through friends, my girlfriend, Twitter...and even Facebook (for a few items posted by organizations I'm a "fan" of).
